About the Role:

We have an urgent opening for the position of

Assembly Engineer

with a leading OEM in the

Automobile Industry

. We are looking for a technically sound and process-oriented individual who can contribute to enhancing production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement on the assembly lines. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputed brand and be involved in large-scale manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the assembly of vehicles or related automobile components.
  • Implement assembly line operations in accordance with standardized processes to meet production targets.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards at every stage of assembly and assist in root-cause analysis of defects or non-conformities.
  • Evaluate and improve assembly processes by identifying bottlenecks and recommending adjustments or upgrades to improve cycle time, productivity, and safety.
  • Manage the daily operation of assembly lines, ensuring tools and equipment are available, functioning properly, and maintained regularly.
  • Work closely with other departments such as quality, maintenance, logistics, and production planning to ensure smooth operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and 5S principles on the shop floor.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to assembly line operators and technicians.
  • Monitor material flow and usage to ensure proper inventory levels and reduce production downtime.
  • Generate reports related to line performance, downtime analysis, production metrics, and quality deviations.
  • Participate in Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma activities for process improvement and cost reduction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in assembly line operations within the Automobile or Auto Component industry.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, production tools, and automobile assembly processes.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, TPM, and quality management systems (QMS).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, SOPs, and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly tools, fixtures, jigs, and understanding of torque settings and tightening procedures
