Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Veterinary Doctor to join our team in Bihar . The role involves providing primary animal healthcare, capacity building of community animal health workers, and supporting livestock development initiatives under our ongoing veterinary and rural livelihood projects. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat a variety of animal diseases and injuries. Conduct regular veterinary camps, vaccination drives, and deworming programs. Guide and monitor field staff, paravets, and community livestock workers (CLWs). Provide technical training and awareness to farmers on livestock care and disease prevention. Monitor animal health indicators and maintain treatment records and field data. Liaise with government veterinary departments and stakeholders for program synergy. Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with project guidelines. Support in the development of livestock-based livelihood models in rural communities. Required Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from a recognized university. A Master’s degree is an added advantage. Experience : Minimum 3–4 years of field-level experience in animal healthcare, rural development, or livestock-based livelihood programs. Registration : Must be registered with the Veterinary Council of India or relevant State Veterinary Council. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of animal diseases, diagnostics, and treatment protocols. Good communication and training skills in local language (Hindi or regional dialects of Bihar). Willingness to travel extensively across rural project areas. Ability to work in cross-functional teams and with rural communities. Proficiency in MS Office and basic reporting tools. Preferred Attributes Experience in working with NGOs, government livestock departments, or rural development agencies. Familiarity with government livestock schemes and rural livelihoods programs.
