Transport Manager

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Line Haul Transport Manager to oversee and optimize long-haul transportation operations across multiple intercity routes including Delhi to Jaipur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Patna, Bhiwandi, Pune, Indore, Jodhpur, and more. The ideal candidate will be responsible for route planning, cost control, driver hiring, TAT (Turnaround Time) management, and overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Route Planning & ExecutionDesign and implement efficient, cost-effective line haul routes between major cities (e.g., Delhi to Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, etc.) Monitor real-time vehicle movement and ensure adherence to planned schedules. Optimize routes based on delivery TATs, road conditions, and traffic patterns. 2. Cost ManagementOversee and manage all operational expenses including fuel, tolls, FASTag, maintenance, and en route charges. Prepare and monitor budgets for each line haul lane to ensure minimum cost coverage. Track and reduce fuel consumption, idle time, and out-of-route mileage. 3. Driver Recruitment & ManagementHire skilled drivers for each dedicated line haul route. Conduct driver onboarding, orientation, and regular training on safety and compliance. Manage driver rosters, performance metrics, and incentive programs. 4. TAT & SLA ComplianceMonitor and enforce strict adherence to TATs across all operational lanes. Identify and eliminate delays or inefficiencies in the transport process. Coordinate with internal teams and third parties to meet or exceed SLA requirements. 5. Lane Operations OversightMaintain comprehensive oversight of all active line haul lanes, ensuring daily performance, safety, and cost-efficiency. Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with legal and company standards. Resolve operational bottlenecks and driver issues promptly. 6. Data Reporting & AnalyticsPrepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on cost, TAT, driver utilization, route efficiency, and exception handling. Use data insights to continuously improve route efficiency and cost metrics.
