Technical Illustrator- IT Software / Networking domain Upto 20 LPA

Position Overview

Cisco is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Illustrator to join our Documentation team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Technical Writers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create high-quality illustrations, diagrams, and visual materials that will enhance the clarity and usability of Cisco's technical documentation. This role requires proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as an enthusiasm to learn and adopt emerging AI tools to improve illustration workflows and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Technical Writers and SMEs to conceptualize, design, and deliver technical illustrations and graphics for Cisco documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, product specifications, and other materials.
• Create detailed and accurate diagrams, such as network schematics, flowcharts, exploded views, and hardware illustrations, to support technical content.
• Ensure all illustrations comply with Cisco's branding and style guidelines, maintaining consistency across all documentation.
• Revise and update existing illustrations based on feedback from SMEs, writers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple illustration projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with documentation goals.
• Stay up-to-date with industry tools, trends, and best practices, including the use of AI tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of illustration processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop: Strong expertise in creating vector-based illustrations and editing raster images.
• Technical Illustration Expertise: Ability to create clear and detailed illustrations, diagrams, and technical drawings that convey complex information effectively.
• Keen to Learn and Use AI Tools: Enthusiastic about exploring and implementing AI-powered tools to streamline workflows and enhance the design process.
• Collaboration Skills: Experience working closely with writers, engineers, and SMEs to gather input and ensure illustration accuracy.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensuring technical accuracy and consistency across visual materials.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate ideas, receive constructive feedback, and adapt designs accordingly.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience working in the technology or networking industry.
• Familiarity with Cisco products or networking concepts.
• Knowledge of other graphic design tools or software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Figma, or CAD tools).
• Understanding of technical documentation processes and workflows.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and techniques for visual content.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Technical Illustration, Visual Communication, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
