Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment & Planning:

  • Assess each child’s cognitive, academic, and functional skill levels.
  • Identify strengths, challenges, and learning styles using informal and standardized tools.
  • Develop IEPs with clearly defined goals based on each child’s needs.

2. Intervention & Teaching:

  • Conduct 1:1 or small group special education sessions focused on literacy, numeracy, attention, memory, problem-solving, and functional academics.
  • Use visual aids, structured teaching, task analysis, and evidence-based strategies tailored to each child.
  • Provide early academic foundation for preschoolers and remedial education for school-aged children.

3. Documentation & Progress Tracking:

  • Maintain lesson plans, therapy notes, and child progress reports.
  • Monitor and update IEP goals regularly in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Share feedback with parents during review meetings or scheduled sessions.

4. Parent Collaboration:

  • Educate and guide parents on strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • Conduct parent meetings to discuss progress, concerns, and school integration plans.

5. School Readiness & Support:

  • Prepare children for mainstream school settings through structured routines, classroom simulations, and pre-academic readiness.
  • Coordinate with schools for integration support and shadow teacher recommendations, when needed.

6. Teamwork & Clinical Collaboration:

  • Work closely with therapists from other departments to provide holistic intervention.
  • Participate in team case discussions, training sessions, and workshops at Rising Sun.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • B.Ed or M.Ed in Special Education (RCI Registered), or Diploma in Special Education (Autism, ID, LD, or MD).
  • Certification in Early Childhood Special Education or Remedial Education is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in special education preferred.
  • (Freshers with strong internships or training experience in child therapy centres may also apply.)

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental disorders, and remedial education strategies.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a child-centric teaching style.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to varied child needs.

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Work with children aged 2–12 years in a structured clinical environment.
  • 1:1 session format, with 45-minute sessions throughout the day.
  • Expected to maintain a calm, motivating, and engaging learning space for every child.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresher

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
