Job Description

Infrastructure Consultant


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess current infrastructure architecture and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Design and implement enterprise virtualization solutions using

    VMware

    and

    Hyper-V

    .
  • Lead advanced

    networking

    configuration and troubleshooting including routing, switching,

    VLANs

    ,

    VPNs

    , and

    Cisco IOS

    administration.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure solutions in

    AWS

    and/or

    Azure

    , especially within

    IaaS

    and

    PaaS

    environments.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using

    Terraform

    ,

    Ansible

    ,

    PowerShell

    , and

    Bash

    scripting.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and diagnostics using tools such as

    SolarWinds

    ,

    Splunk

    , or similar platforms.
  • Develop and maintain robust

    Disaster Recovery (DR)

    and

    Business Continuity Plans (BCP)

    , including

    RPO

    and

    RTO

    definitions and automation of backup and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure with business needs and compliance standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and operational procedures.


Core Technical Skills:

  • Virtualization:

    VMware, Hyper-V

  • Networking:

    Advanced routing/switching, VLANs, VPNs, Cisco IOS (preferably

    CCNP-level

    )

  • Cloud Platforms:

    AWS or Azure (IaaS/PaaS design & operations)

  • Automation & Scripting:

    Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash

  • Monitoring & Diagnostics:

    SolarWinds, Splunk, or equivalents

  • Disaster Recovery/BCP:

    RPO/RTO planning, backup and recovery automation


Preferred Certifications:

  • CCNP Enterprise

    (Cisco)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

    or

    Azure Solutions Architect Expert

  • ITIL v4 Foundation
