Position Summary

Kanakia International School, Chembur, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Studies Teacher to teach Grades 6 to 9 under the CBSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will have in-depth subject knowledge in

History, Geography, and Civics

, an engaging classroom presence, and a commitment to developing critical thinking, inquiry, and global awareness among students.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Planning & Delivery:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
  • Teach topics from Geography, History, Political Science, and Economics relevant to Grades 6 to 9.
  • Use innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to promote student interest and understanding.
  • Design activities, projects, and field-related assignments that enhance real-world connections.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Prepare, administer, and grade classwork, assignments, periodic assessments, and examinations.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of students’ progress and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

Classroom & Student Management

  • Create a positive learning environment that fosters student growth and respect.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s rules and code of conduct.
  • Support students in academic and personal development.

Collaborative Teaching & School Involvement

  • Work closely with other subject teachers and coordinators to ensure interdisciplinary learning.
  • Participate actively in school events, exhibitions, educational trips, and special assemblies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents during PTMs and through school channels.

Professional Development

  • Stay updated with changes in the CBSE curriculum and integrate best teaching practices.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and school-organized professional development programs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in History / Geography / Social Sciences or related field.
  • B.Ed. (mandatory as per CBSE norms).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school, preferably in middle school.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and classroom technology.
  • Ability to design creative learning resources and assessments.
