Safety Officer

Job Title:

Safety Officer – Cross Country Pipeline Project

Qualification:

Any Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Science discipline.

Additionally, at least a 1-year Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute.

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience for diploma holders in Safety Management.

Should have experience in Safety Management in construction of cross-country pipeline works in Hydrocarbon Pipeline Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor safety management systems at the project site in line with company and client HSE requirements.

Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and procedures.

Ensure use of PPE by all workmen and staff, and adherence to safe work practices on-site.

Organize safety induction and regular safety training for workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and assist in preparation of Method Statements for critical activities like hot tapping, trenching, stringing, welding, lowering, and hydrotesting.

Monitor lifting operations, confined space activities, working at heights, and other high-risk activities.

Investigate near-miss incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate with client HSE representatives and ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to pipeline construction.

Maintain HSE documentation, records of toolbox talks, safety permits, and inspection checklists.

Promote a proactive safety culture within the site team and contractors.

Additional Requirements:

Familiarity with IS, OISD, OSHA, and other relevant standards applicable to hydrocarbon pipeline projects.

Ability to handle emergency response situations and conduct emergency drills.

Good communication skills for effective coordination with site engineers, contractors, and client HSE personnel.

Should be willing to work at project sites in remote locations across India as required.
