Radiographer - Radiology

Radiography:

• Radiologic technicians greet patients and explain diagnostic testing procedures. Following a prescription outlined by the patient's physician, the technician performs the imaging.
• Preparing the patient for the procedure.
• Explaining how the procedure works to the patient and ensuring that they are comfortable.
• Ensure that the patient is positioned properly in order to get the best quality x-ray.
• Adjust the equipment to obtain the correct angle. Knowledge of how to use the x-ray equipment is a must.
• To check the quality of X – ray before the patient leaves the department.
• To perform bedside X – rays.
• To perform theatre calls (C-arm) whenever required.
• To perform / assist with Radiologists for the following procedures like IVP, MCU, AUG etc.,
• Taking preventive steps to avoid unnecessary exposure.
  

Ultra sound and mammogram

• To assist the Ultra sonogram examination as per the instruction given by Radiologist.
• To assist in performing routine & bedside ultra sound procedures.
• Film images / scans utilizing appropriate window level settings and formats; archives images & data. Images should be stored in PACS immediately without fail
• Identify the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and make accommodations for such differences.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional & chronological maturation process in delivery of services to patients of the age group served.
• Observe all organizational and diagnostic imaging departmental policies and procedures.
