Quality Control (QC) Engineer – Civil / MEP

Key Responsibilities:

Civil QC Duties:

• Inspect civil construction activities including RCC, brickwork, plastering, waterproofing, and finishing.
• Verify the quality of formwork, rebar placement, concrete mix designs, and curing procedures.
• Monitor third-party testing for materials like cement, aggregates, sand, bricks, and concrete.
• Maintain documentation for material approvals, inspection requests (IRs), and non-conformance reports (NCRs).

MEP QC Duties:

• Inspect installation of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Verify testing and commissioning processes as per project specifications and safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to correct pipe routing, cable management, insulation, earthing, and sizing standards.
• Cross-check materials against approved technical submittals and makes.

Common QC Responsibilities:

• Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and contractors.
• Maintain quality documentation such as WIRs, MIRs, NCRs, and QA/QC logs.
• Raise NCRs and support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) processes.
• Assist during internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Train site engineers and workers on project specifications and quality best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Sound knowledge of IS codes, NBC, and standard civil & MEP practices.
• Familiar with QA/QC tools and procedures: WIR, MIR, RFI, NCR, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and MEP drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience in field inspections and material testing.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in Real Estate Projects: Residential, Commercial, or Mixed-use developments.
• Worked on Infrastructure Projects: Hospitals, Hotels, Factories, Malls.
• Previous employment with MEP Contracting Firms or PMC (Project Management Consultants).
