Purchase Head

Job Title: Purchase Head Department: Purchase Location: Jamshedpur Educational Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Material Management, or equivalent. Experience: Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role in a reputed foundry industry . Total Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in a manufacturing industry . Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Sudisa’s organisational goals. Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable vendors; negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective procurement. Lead vendor performance evaluations and build long-term supplier relationships. Ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations in all procurement activities. Plan, monitor, and control the procurement budget to ensure cost efficiency. Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Finance, and Accounts to ensure seamless operations. Conduct market research to discover new materials, suppliers, and opportunities for cost savings or product innovation. Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contracts, and records in line with audit requirements. Monitor key metrics and procurement KPIs for regular performance reporting. Evaluate and manage risks related to procurement activities. Key Authorities: Authorized to approve procurement transactions and vendor contracts within defined limits. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing , supplier evaluation, and negotiation techniques. Deep understanding of supply chain principles , inventory management, and logistics. Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities. Proven leadership and team management skills. High level of cost and quality consciousness . Effective time management and work planning ability. Capability to build and sustain a positive team culture . Preferred Candidate Traits: Strategic thinker with a practical mindset.
