The Assistant Manager - Purchase (MEP) is responsible for managing the procurement of
materials, equipment, and services related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)
systems, including Firefighting. This role involves supplier management, cost optimization,
contract negotiations, and ensuring timely procurement to support project and operational
requirements.
o Source, evaluate, and procure MEP materials (Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting) as per project requirements.
o Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
o Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and suppliers for MEP components.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
o Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize procurement costs.
o Review and finalize purchase agreements and contracts in coordination with the legal and finance departments.
o Ensure procurement processes adhere to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
o Monitor procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
o Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to manage stock levels and reduce overstocking or shortages.
o Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand
material requirements and delivery schedules.
o Coordinate with finance and accounts for vendor payments and budget
approvals.
o Stay updated on market trends, new products, and pricing dynamics in the
MEP industry.
o Identify alternative suppliers and materials to enhance efficiency and cost-
effectiveness.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3-7 years of experience in procurement, specifically in MEP (Electrical, Plumbing & Firefighting) materials.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Experience in working with ERP systems and procurement software.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Strong understanding of technical specifications for MEP materials.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP-based procurement tools.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance related to MEP procurement.
