Postdoctoral Fellow Position Announcement at Computational Combustion and Machine Learning Lab, IIT Gandhinagar Applications are invited from qualified, motivated, and talented individuals for a Postdoctoral Fellow position(s) in the Computational Combustion and Machine Learning (CCML) Lab ( https://sites.google.com/view/ccml-lab ), Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Gandhinagar. Name of the Post(s): Post-doctoral Fellow Duration: One year (extendable for 1 more year based on performance) Consolidated Salary: INR 72000-84000 per month (as per experience). Required Qualification: PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical or any other relevant department from a recognized university/institute, with experience in CFD. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade) from the undergraduate level onwards, and at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in both Class 10 and 12. Preferred Experience / Skills: Strong CFD background, preferably with open-source tools (OpenFOAM, PeleC, Nek5000) Solid understanding of reacting flows, chemical kinetics, and engine/gas-turbine simulations Experience with high-performance computing and machine-learning model development for turbulent reacting flows Expertise in at least one programming language and proficiency in Python Experience with publishing in peer-reviewed journals Job Description: As a postdoctoral researcher in the CCML Lab, you will lead the development of physics-informed machine learning frameworks for modeling chemical kinetics and turbulence-chemistry interactions. You will integrate and validate these frameworks within CFD simulations, testing them on both academic benchmark cases and industry-relevant combustors, and disseminate your results through journal articles and international conference presentations. Additionally, you will co-mentor graduate students, contribute to streamlining the lab's computational infrastructure, and assist in preparing competitive funding proposals. Success in this dynamic, growth-oriented environment requires strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the principal investigator and the broader research team.
