PGT Economics

Job Purpose:

To teach Economics to students of Classes XI and XII, ensuring academic excellence, conceptual clarity, and application-oriented learning in alignment with CBSE curriculum standards. The teacher should also contribute to overall student development and school activities.

1. Key Responsibilities:1. Academic Responsibilities:

• Teach Economics to Classes XI and XII following the CBSE curriculum and guidelines.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assignments in alignment with prescribed textbooks and syllabus.
• Use innovative teaching methods to make learning engaging and effective (e.g., case studies, debates, simulations).
• Conduct regular assessments, unit tests, and pre-board exams to evaluate student understanding and progress.
• Maintain academic records and performance data of students.
• Assist in the preparation and updating of question banks, worksheets, and remedial plans.

2. Student Development:

• Encourage students to participate in Economics-related extracurriculars like quizzes, essay competitions, and MUNs.
• Mentor students for Olympiads, board exams, and career choices in the field of commerce and economics.
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support as needed.
• Promote analytical and critical thinking among students through discussions on current economic issues.

3. Classroom Management & Environment:

• Maintain discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects and communicate them to students.
• Use digital tools (smart boards, PPTs, videos, etc.) to enhance the teaching-learning experience.

4. Professional Responsibilities:

• Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and school functions.
• Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
• Participate in workshops, training sessions, and professional development programs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current economic developments and pedagogy.

5. Administrative Duties:

• Assist in the preparation of CBSE documentation like board exam readiness, moderation, and practical exam coordination.
• Contribute to departmental planning, budget proposals, and syllabus distribution.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification:
• Master’s Degree in Economics from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory as per CBSE norms.

Experience:

• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a reputed CBSE school at the senior secondary level (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
