Role Description

• Implement the sales strategy for the location
• Build, manage and expand the customer base for the company to ensure sales and yield targets are achieved
• Make daily sales calls to book at least minimum tonnage on the flight. Schedule daily visits so that priority customers are covered daily.
• Negotiate rates with customers; keep the sales team updated on rates committed; ensure rates are quoted such that there is overall yield maximization.
• Manage sales orders such that flight capacity is fully utilized and impact of no-shows is minimized. During off-season, engage in special campaigns to ensure that utilization does not drop.
• Check pre-and post flight information to ensure customer commitments are met.
• Upload committed rates on the system. Verify any errors in rates reported by the manifest team.
• Enter committed rates on the Accounting copy from which customers are invoiced.
• Follow up on collections with customers. Resolve disputes if any with customers. Monitor claims made by customers for lost or damaged shipments and their settlement.
• Promote import selling through agents’ counterparts in origin locations
• Approve issue of AWB stock to agents.
• Prepare reports as follows: Cargo uplifted, revenue and yield. Forecast for next week. Monthly report giving target vs actual by destination, and reasons for any variances.
