JD FOR REFERFENCE:

The Unix Systems Engineer with AWS/Azure Cloud skill will be responsible for Server management, deployment and troubleshooting of the complete IT Linux environment ( On Prem and Cloud ) including, but not limited to SUSIE Linux, Red hat Linux, AIX, VIO, HMC, Automated Server Build, Solaris, VMWare, Apache, Scripting (Perl, Python, Bash), BladeLogic experience preferred. The goal of this position is to provide infrastructure support for all types of issue, deliver high quality solutions as part of a projects team, working to agreed standards and delivering on time. They will also be responsible for determining methods and procedures on technology deployment. It is expected that there will be an equal focus on both service and security and an awareness of both is essential.

• Delivers incident resolution and problem management to the server estate
• Maintains the server estate to a known, consistent standard
• Undertakes administrative and BAU work on behalf of technical and business teams.
• Performs remediation on computer hardware, software, and firmware, or makes changes to systems management software, to improve performance and eliminate problems.
• Patching and vulnerability Management
• Reviews, maintains and tests upgrades to the vendor software used for the support of the servers
• Identifies, develops and implements new and expanded support services or, performance/tuning recommendations and changes in the workload mix, to meet user business requirements and ensure availability of resources.
• Adherence to ITIL standards and processes
• Will be required to work outside normal hours and be part of an out of hours on-call rotation.
