Mode: Contractual (Third-party Payroll / Staff Augmentation)

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in backend technologies, particularly in building microservices with container orchestration in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java, with potential use of Python or Kotlin as needed.
• Integrate with and optimize Elasticsearch, building search indices, analyzers, and query DSLs.
• Develop RESTful APIs and robust data ingestion pipelines from various sources.
• Optimize Elasticsearch clusters for performance (sharding, replication, caching, tuning).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Data Engineering, and Product.
• Troubleshoot complex backend and infrastructure issues related to search and data services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions focused on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers when required.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend development, especially with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Strong understanding of Elasticsearch, including internals like mappings, indexing, analyzers, and performance tuning.
• Experience with REST API design and development.
• Familiarity with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk for monitoring and observability.
• Exposure to CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Preferred exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Good to have: Knowledge of message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and stream processing tools (Flink, Spark).
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
