Job Summary: Zigma is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Government Sales Manager to lead business development initiatives with government bodies. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with senior government officials, including IAS officers and secretaries, and be responsible for managing tendering and bidding processes. This role will focus on securing government contracts for the scientific cleaning and remediation of dump sites across the country. Key Responsibilities: Liaison and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with government departments, including municipal corporations, state-level bodies, and central government agencies.Regularly meet with IAS officers, secretaries, and key decision-makers to present Zigma’s offerings. Sales and Business Development: Identify government opportunities aligned with Zigma’s core offerings.Drive end-to-end sales processes including lead generation, proposal development, negotiations, and deal closure. Tendering & Bidding: Lead the preparation and submission of RFPs, EOIs, and bids for government tenders.Coordinate with internal departments (legal, technical, finance) to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.Monitor government plans, budgets, and project announcements related to waste management and environmental services.Stay updated with relevant government policies, compliance requirements, and funding mechanisms.Maintain accurate sales pipelines, activity reports, and forecasts.Develop and implement strategies for improving Zigma’s visibility and success in government tenders. Qualifications and Skills: Market Intelligence: Reporting and Strategy: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred). 5–10 years of experience in government sales, public sector liaison, or institutional business development. Proven track record in successful government tendering and closing high-value contracts. Strong understanding of government procurement processes and public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Comfortable dealing with senior government officials and bureaucrats. Willingness to travel extensively across India as needed. Preferred Attributes: Prior experience in the environmental services, infrastructure, or waste management sectors. Strong network within government and urban development departments. Knowledge of Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart Cities projects, or similar government initiatives.
