Job Description

Role Overview AIMS Institutes is seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and manage the institute’s infrastructure and campus facilities, including academic blocks, hostels, utilities, and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and civil work management , and ensure the effective functioning of the entire campus facilities through preventive and corrective maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations of facilities including classrooms, labs, hostels, canteens, and offices. Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance related to: Electrical systems – panels, wiring, lighting, generators, etc. Plumbing systems – water supply, drainage, restrooms, etc. Civil works – infrastructure repair, renovation, building safety and upkeep. Manage annual maintenance contracts (AMCs) for lifts, HVAC, fire safety systems, STPs, etc. Oversee hostel maintenance, hygiene, water supply, and security infrastructure. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for quality and timely work. Maintain facility-related records, reports, budgets, and cost estimates. Address emergency facility-related issues promptly and efficiently. Conduct regular facility audits and inspections across the campus. Key Skills And Competencies Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and civil maintenance. Proven experience in managing large institutional facilities. Good knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance (fire safety, building codes, etc.). Leadership and team management skills to guide technical and housekeeping staff. Strong problem-solving and crisis management capabilities. Vendor negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in MS Office and facility management tools/software. Qualifications And Experience Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical / Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in facility management, preferably in the education sector or large campuses. Experience in managing hostel and residential facilities is an added advantage.
