Automation Technician

Position Summary:The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated systems with a focus on both electrical and mechanical components. The role involves working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and various automation technologies to ensure optimal equipment performance and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting & Maintenance: 1. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment. 2. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automated systems and machinery. 3. Troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens), Drives and sensor systems. System Upgrades & Modifications: 1. Assist in installing, commissioning, and modifying automated systems and control panels. 2. Update PLC logic and support changes to automation software under engineer supervision. Documentation & Compliance: 1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and technical drawings. 2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, electrical codes, and company standards. Collaboration: 1. Work closely with engineering, operations, and other maintenance staff to improve system reliability. 2. Support production teams during system start-ups, changeovers, and technical interventions. Qualifications :Education & Certification: 1. Diploma or degree in Electrical,Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field. 2. PLC certification or equivalent experience preferred. Experience: 1. Two plus years of hands-on experience in an industrial automation environment. 2. Proficiency with PLC programming (troubleshooting at a minimum). Skills: 1. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in conveyors and motors. 2. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. 3. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
