Job Title: Assistant Manager – Mechanical Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

· Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment (reactors, pumps, agitators, pipelines, compressors, etc.).

· Monitor equipment performance and implement predictive techniques like vibration analysis, thermography, etc.

2. Breakdown & Emergency Maintenance

· Lead the team in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical breakdowns with minimum downtime.

· Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

3. Safety & Statutory Compliance

· Ensure mechanical systems comply with safety norms, pressure vessel regulations, and explosive/chemical handling rules.

· Maintain documentation and liaise with statutory bodies for inspections and approvals.

4. Spares & Inventory Management

· Coordinate with purchase/stores to ensure availability of critical spares and consumables.

· Monitor spares consumption and maintain inventory control.

5. Project & Shutdown Activities

· Support erection, commissioning, and modification of mechanical equipment during plant upgradation or CAPEX projects.

· Plan and execute shutdown maintenance, coordinating with cross-functional teams.

6. Team Supervision

· Supervise mechanical maintenance technicians and contractors.

· Conduct skill training, daily toolbox talks, and enforce safety practices.

7. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, downtime analysis, and CMMS entries.

· Generate reports for management on maintenance KPIs like MTTR, MTBF, downtime, etc.

8. Energy & Cost Optimization

· Monitor utility consumption (steam, air, etc.) and initiate cost-saving and energy-efficiency projects.

Key Skills Required

1. Strong technical knowledge of rotating and static equipment in chemical plants.

2. Understanding of hazardous chemical handling (especially potassium chlorate).

3. CMMS software proficiency (SAP, Maximo, etc.).

4. Safety-first mindset and knowledge of HAZOP and risk assessments.

5. Team management and contractor coordination.

6. Good communication and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

5–8 years in mechanical maintenance in a chemical or process plant (preferably handling oxidizing chemicals like KClO₃).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
