API Developer

JD - API DEVELOPER(Node) - Onsite (Chennai); Experience - 3-5Years; FTE/Contract (4 - 6 months and will be extended) Position Responsibilities 1. Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for front-end applications 2. Work with Node.js and backend frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS 3. Manage API versioning, error handling, and monitoring 4. Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure high-quality code 5. Debug, resolve, and optimize API queries to enhance performance 6. Document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications 7. Ensure high performance, availability, and security of APIs 8. Break down, estimate, and plan API development tasks based on project requirements 9. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable solutions 10. Communicate effectively within the team, providing technical and functional walkthroughs Required Skills 1. 3+ years of active API development experience (Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered) 2. Strong proficiency in designing and building RESTful APIs 3. Expertise in Node.js and backend frameworks like Express or NestJS 4. Experience with tools such as Git, Postman, Swagger, and CI/CD pipelines 5. Solid understanding of API integration with front-end and back-end systems 6. Knowledge of API security principles: JWT, OAuth, and scalable service design best practices 7. Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Skills 1. Experience with JavaScript 2.
