We are an IT startup supporting multiple line of businesses and this requirement is to support Furniture industry. Our furniture brands are expanding rapidly in eCommerce space and we are also building newer brands to cater to market needs and changing customer preferences. In last 2-3 years we have established ourselves as leading online furniture retailer catering to middle to high-end customers. More and more customers are want to configure and customize their products online for which we want to provide them state of art experience where they can configure the furniture as per their need and visualize it. In order to meet this need we are hiring 3D modelers who can create 3d models of the furniture we sell. Here are details of job requirements:

Requirements

-    Proven experience in 3D furniture modeling, especially upholstered items like sofas.

-    Strong understanding of topology flow, quad modeling, and low-poly optimization.

-     Expertise in at least one major 3D software (Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, or equivalent).

-     Excellent skills in UV unwrapping and texture optimization.

-     Ability to create models with clean edge loops, perfect for close-up renders and web viewers.

-     Familiarity with baking details (normal maps, AO maps, etc.) for low-poly use.

-     Understanding of real-world scaling and measurement accuracy.

-     Ability to follow design changes and offer quick, flexible solutions.

-     Strong portfolio demonstrating past furniture models with wireframe previews.

Responsibilities:

• Model sofas, sectionals, beds, and upholstered furniture based on reference images or drawings.

• Deliver models with clean quad-based topology optimized for rendering, web, and AR/VR.

• Maintain accurate real-world dimensions and scaling.

• Optimize models for low polygon count and small file size without losing important details.

• Perform UV unwrapping with clean, non-stretched layouts.

• Bake high-poly details (if needed) into normal maps for low-poly models.

• Handle furniture customizations, such as changing dimensions, cushion styles, stitching, legs, and tufting designs.

• Communicate effectively regarding revisions, corrections, or updates.

• Deliver organized files, including wireframes, UV maps, and texture setups if required.
