Job Description

Job Title: Backend WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

Backend WordPress Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and themes.
Create and integrate RESTful APIs for third-party services.
Optimize site performance, scalability, and security.
Manage and maintain WordPress database structures (custom post types, taxonomies, metadata, etc.).
Troubleshoot and debug issues related to WordPress backend functionality.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for WordPress deployments.
Ensure code quality through version control (e.g., Git) and code reviews.
Stay updated with the latest WordPress core updates, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a backend WordPress developer (2+ years preferred).
Strong proficiency in PHP and MySQL.
Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, and WP Query.
Experience developing custom WordPress plugins and themes.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, AJAX, and JSON.
Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
Knowledge of web security best practices (e.g., sanitization, escaping, nonces).
Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques (e.g., caching, query optimization).
Working knowledge of server environments (Apache/Nginx) and WordPress hosting best practices.
