Senior Accounts Assistant

1) Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Sr Accountants are responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. They analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and financial performance, providing insights that support strategic decision-making.

2) Accounting Cycle Management:

Managing the entire accounting cycle, from transaction recording to financial statement preparation, is a key responsibility. This includes overseeing general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

3) Tax Compliance:

Sr Accountants ensure that the organisation complies with tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining accurate tax records, and staying updated on changes in tax laws. They may also work on tax planning strategies to minimise the organisation’s tax liability.

4) Internal Controls:

Establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard the organisation’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting is another critical responsibility. Sr Accountants design and implement control procedures, conduct audits, and work to prevent fraud.

5) Team Management:

In larger organisations, Sr Accountants often supervise a team of junior accountants and finance staff. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that all team members adhere to accounting principles and organisational policies.
