About The Role
This post will support the development of the Health Systems and Policy research theme area at GBSH, with a particular focus on Primary Health Care (PHC). The post holder will work with Professor Kabir Sheikh on the Urban Primary Health Care learning sites project, coordinating a multi-partner collaboration, and contributing to one or more workstreams of the project. Additionally, the post holder will work with Professor Sheikh to advance the Health Systems and Policy theme generally at GBSH and UCL, by writing research manuscripts, contributing to collaborative funding proposals, organizing research meetings and seminars, and helping convene the faculty thematic cluster on Health Systems and Policy.We are particularly interested in someone who brings expertise in health policy and systems research in low- and middle-income countries. Given the interdisciplinary approach to health challenges taken at Global Business School for Health, we would expect this person to be able to work across disciplines and engage effectively with health system stakeholders, in responding to important problems confronting health systems at subnational, national and / or global levels. Experience of research and partnerships in low- and middle-income countries are a pre-requisite for the role.A role holder at this level will require a good knowledge of existing debates on health systems and policy. About You
You will hold a PhD in health systems, health policy, public health, global health, health economics or other relevant social science, or a related field. You will have research and work experience in health systems strengthening with a health equity orientation in low- and middle-income countries. You possess excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills, and be able to engage and sustain partnerships with diverse health system stakeholders, including policymakers, funders, and development organisations.
