The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing complex ETL solutions using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) for various data migration, data warehousing, and data integration projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of data quality principles, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data flows using SAP BODS (4.x versions highly preferred). Develop complex data mappings, transformations, and workflows to extract data from diverse source systems (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, non-SAP databases, flat files, APIs) and load into target systems (e.g., SAP HANA, data warehouses, other applications). Implement data quality rules, data cleansing, standardization, and enrichment processes within BODS to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data. Work extensively with various BODS transformations including Query, Table Comparison, Key Generation, History Preserving, Validation, Data Cleanse, Match, and others. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration and ETL job issues, ensuring data integrity and system performance. Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data migration strategies. Perform performance tuning and optimization of BODS jobs and data flows for large data volumes. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including source-to-target mappings, data flow diagrams, and ETL specifications. Manage BODS repositories (local, central) and assist with code deployments across development, QA, and production environments. Monitor BODS job schedules using Management Console and proactively address any failures or performance bottlenecks. Contribute to data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to data management best practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on SAP BODS development and best practices. Stay updated with the latest SAP BODS features, functionalities, and industry trends. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) development. Extensive experience with SAP BODS 4.x versions. Strong proficiency in designing and implementing complex ETL workflows, data flows, and transformations. In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including Kimball/Inmon methodologies, star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions (SCD Type 1, 2, and 3). Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for various relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA). Experience with SAP system integration using BODS (e.g., ECC extractors, BAPI, IDOC, RFC connections). Solid understanding of data quality concepts, data profiling, and data governance. Experience with job scheduling and monitoring using SAP BODS Management Console. Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and change management processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in an agile environment. Preferred Qualifications: SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP BusinessObjects Data Services. Experience with SAP HANA modeling (Calculation Views, Attribute Views, Analytic Views).
