Job Description

Position - Product Development Engineer Location - Kochi (Kerala) Experience - 08+ years Responsibilities Perform activities concerned with design, development, and testing of electromechanical components / products / systems for ESS & Industrial markets. Work closely with Field Application Engineering, Sales & Product Management teams and Interact with customers, and other engineering areas during the development of products. Conceives original ideas for new products and ability to develop them into practical and economical models. Define specifications, perform engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and prove concept in prototypes and testing. To work closely with the Global Engineering team in design of new product for global customers by meeting timelines and providing innovative solutions. To keep abreast of new technologies, materials and processes and use the information to initiate cost saving or product enhancing projects. To contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically ‘Delivery on Time’ targets for development and sustaining activities. To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Manager. To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation. Functional Skills: Experience in New Product development cycle. Expertise in Creo/Solidworks software. Good Knowledge in PDM windchill & PLM software. Good Knowledge and thorough understanding of manufacturing processes like Molding, Stamping, Plating and other Metal Forming and plastic miniaturing processes. Added advantage would be good knowledge in additive manufacturing process. Experience in design tools such as GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and Tolerance Stack ups. Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts. Excellent Problem solving and Analytical Skills. Knowledge of process like 8D, Why Why analysis etc. Knowledge of statistical process control methodology, DFSS is an advantage. Product Testing & Qualification for new products. Product knowledge on connector is an advantage. Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies. Exposure & Knowledge on Electrical system design will be added advantage Knowledge of six sigma tools will be an added advantage.
