Principal Vehicle Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the TCMS lifecycle for Vande Bharat-from system requirement definition through design, development, integration, validation, and commissioning.
• Define and manage functional and interface requirements across key subsystems (traction, brakes, HVAC, doors, lighting, fire detection, CCTV, diagnostics).
• Coordinate with TCMS suppliers, Indian Railways, and internal teams to ensure compliance with RDSO/ICF specifications and global rail standards.
• Develop and review System Architecture, Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Develop Software Architecture and review Hardware Architecture provided by TCMS vendors.
• Ensure integration of protocols like MVB, Ethernet, and CAN as per train topology.
• Drive system-level HIL/SIL testing, lab integration, and on-train validation.
• Ensure deliverables meet RAMS, cybersecurity, and SIL safety requirements as per EN 50126/28/29.
• Support documentation for type approval, safety case preparation, and certification.
• Provide technical leadership during trial runs, performance testing, and post-delivery support.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor//'s or Master//'s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Railway Engineering.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in TCMS development, integration, or validation for rolling stock.
• Strong understanding of train communication protocols (e.g., TCN, MVB, WTB, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with rail standards like IEC 61375, EN 50126/8/9, and SIL-rated systems.
• Experience working with system engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect).
• Strong analytical, coordination, and project leadership skills.
