Maintenance Manager

As the Maintenance Manager in a sheet metal fabrication and UPS assembly plant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all machinery, tools, and infrastructure within the facility. You will oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, manage the maintenance team, collaborate with the production department, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring and executing preventive maintenance schedules for various fabrication equipment such as CNC Punching machines, bending machines, press brakes, Powder coating equipment, shearing machines, welding stations, Transformer winding and Assembly machines, among others. You will need to ensure timely repairs and troubleshooting of breakdowns to minimize downtime, maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, and analyze equipment history to predict potential failures. Additionally, you will lead and supervise the maintenance team, provide training on maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and equipment handling, evaluate performance, facilitate skill development, and manage work schedules. It will be essential for you to maintain an optimal inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, including critical spares for critical machines. As the Maintenance Manager, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with occupational health and safety regulations. You will need to implement safe working practices, conduct regular safety drills and audits, and coordinate with internal and external auditors for compliance and certification needs, such as ISO, EMS, and OHSAS. Moreover, you will provide technical support for the installation and commissioning of new machines or upgrades, collaborate with engineering and production teams for layout changes or process improvements, and recommend and implement energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives. Your role will require a strong understanding of sheet metal machinery, hands-on experience with various systems, analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, effective communication, and vendor coordination. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. You should have at least 10-15 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a managerial role. Ideally, you should have prior experience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication industries.
