Job Title: Senior Legal Executive – IPR & Consumer Litigation
Department: Legal & Compliance
Reporting To: Head – Legal & IPR
Experience Required: 7 – 12 years
Industry Preference: Automotive / Auto-components
Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Executive with proven expertise in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Consumer Law. The ideal candidate will manage trademark/copyright/patent registrations, handle infringement matters, and coordinate legal strategies to protect and enforce the company’s IP portfolio in India and internationally. The role also involves handling litigation, especially in consumer forums, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement agencies.
Key Responsibilities: I. IPR / Trademark Management Plan and coordinate for registration and renewal of Trademarks, Copyrights, and Patents (India & abroad).
Handle IPR filings, oppositions, and portfolio management.
Collaborate with R&D and Brand teams to ensure registration and adoption of best practices.
Conduct IPR litigation research and assist team members on related legal matters.
Raise internal awareness on IPR risk mitigation and compliance practices.
II. IPR Infringement Action Plan and execute legal action against infringements, counterfeits, and unauthorized use.
Develop internal processes to mitigate risks of third-party infringement claims.
Coordinate and conduct anti-counterfeiting raids with relevant agencies.
III. IPR Systems and Contracts Maintain and enhance IPR management systems; implement global best practices.
Draft, review, and vet IPR-related contractual clauses in licensing, NDAs, MoUs, etc.
IV. Litigation and Consumer Law Manage and represent the organization in consumer court litigations.
Provide legal support on matters pertaining to consumer disputes and regulatory issues.
Liaise with external counsel, consumer forums, and regulatory bodies.
V. Legal Coordination & Research Coordinate with police and law enforcement on IPR-related complaints, FIRs, and actions.
Conduct legal research on IPR and consumer law topics for internal use and litigation support.
Candidate Profile: Educational Qualification: LL.B. (mandatory), LL.M. (preferred).
Work Experience: 7–12 years in corporate legal departments, with substantial exposure to:
IPR management – trademarks, copyrights, patents, and design.
Consumer litigation – notices, appearances, case filings.
Drafting legal documents, vetting contracts with IPR focus.
Working with enforcement authorities (Police, Customs, Legal Metrology, etc.).
Essential Skills: Deep knowledge of IPR laws (Indian and international) and Consumer Protection Laws.
Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on experience in legal research, litigation tracking, and contract management.
Prior experience in the automotive or allied manufacturing sector preferred.
Familiarity with IP case management tools or databases is a plus.
