Engineer - Sync & DCN

Expected Results Major Activities

1 Ensure highly reliable and error free network monitoring & troubleshooting for all TX. Products.

• Good knowledge of DCN,WDM, OTN, NPT, EPT domains

• SDH Technology: Network Optical alarms, trouble shooting, DCC bytes, Synch, Performance monitoring, NMS layers, EMS layer, back up restoration.

• ECI: Troubleshooting on ECI CWDM, Online support to team. Coordinating with vendor on POA, proactive cases resolution. NPT technology.

• Alcatel: Product features in Bharti Network, troubleshooting of channel power, tuning 1626, transponders, Color, Black and white channels, Band multiplexer, channel multiplexer. 1678 Alcatel DXC product features and functionality. 1660 SDH products know-how.

• Ciena: Hands-on required on ciena 5400,6500, 5160,8700,3930,3928,5130,5144,5410. Troubleshooting on HW/SW of Ciena. Configuring channels. OSNR for channels, 6350. Nortel hyper terminal

• LCT login on: Alcatel- 1678 and 1660. ECI: XDM Family and BG products, NOKIA OMS/OTN

• TEJAS - Working on Tejas SDH network, troubleshooting (trail, Hardware & fault)

2 Ensure high customer satisfaction index for Data. • Timely Tx backbone incidents resolution and meet MTTR as per SLA

• Working in 24*7 environment i.e in shifts.

3 Tx network unplanned Incident Management. • Ensure diagnosis of the backbone incident within 30 minutes or SLA

• Co-ordination with Service fault/ Incident Management for DCN & Sync related issue during any outage

• Vendor’s Action plan implementation for Tx.N/W failure restoration.

• Detection / management / restoration of catastrophic failures.

• Service restoration by rerouting of traffic in case of network failures.

• Problem management for Tx backbone network.

4 Manage and develop team. • Ensure training to new joinees.

• Provide updates to team about the latest technology tools and performance measures to ensure continuous service improvements

• Promote a culture a proactive approach and ownership among the engineers.

• Knowledge sharing, best practices and replication .Ensure team building and skills development

5 Key Deliverables • Hardware and Software: Working with Ops team for hardware cases resolution. Ensuring ERT.

• Vendor support. Avoiding multiple POA. Tracking spares, SLA meet Drive prompt restoration of network through coordination with NOC, O&M teams and external vendors.
