Design Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for an Design Engineer to contribute to our Research & Development efforts in the field of dust & fume extraction and air control pollution equipment. The job location will be Coimbatore Responsibilities: Product Design and Development: Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD software to design and develop cutting-edge dust & fume extraction and air control pollution equipment. Collaborate with the R&D team to translate conceptual ideas into detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and technical specifications. Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. Sheet Metal Design: Create efficient and functional sheet metal designs for various components and enclosures of the equipment. Optimize designs for manufacturability, structural integrity, and cost-effectiveness. Develop detailed drawings with precise dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes. Vendor Follow-up and BOM Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of necessary materials and components. Maintain and update the bill of materials (BOM) with accurate and relevant information. Assembly Drawing Creation: Prepare comprehensive assembly drawings, exploded views, and assembly instructions to guide the manufacturing and assembly processes. Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth and efficient assembly of the equipment. Address design-related issues that may arise during the assembly process. Product Concept Creation, NPD and ISO: Contribute to the development of innovative product concepts and solutions in the field of dust & fume extraction and air control pollution equipment. Conduct research, brainstorm ideas, and propose design improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive new product development (NPD) initiatives. ISO documentation for Research & Development (R&D) typically involves establishing and maintaining processes and procedures that align with ISO standards to ensure efficient and effective R&D operations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailed drawing creation. Strong knowledge and experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of engineering standards, materials, and regulatory requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. 2-6 years of relevant experience in research and development, product design, or similar roles.
