Job Description

Design & Drafting:

Create 2D/3D models of sheet metal components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
Design enclosures, panels, ducting, and support structures as per project requirements.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for accurate manufacturing.

Material Selection & Optimization:

Choose appropriate materials (SS304, SS316, GI, etc.) based on application and environment.
Optimize sheet metal design for weight, cost, and manufacturability.

BOM Preparation:

Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for procurement and production.
Coordinate with purchase and production departments for material planning.

DFM & DFA Considerations:

Ensure designs are manufacturable using standard fabrication processes like laser cutting, bending, welding, etc.
Incorporate ease-of-assembly features in design.

Standards & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, GMP, CE if applicable).
Incorporate safety and ergonomic standards in design.

Cross-functional Coordination:

Work closely with production, quality, and installation teams.
Support troubleshooting during fabrication and assembly stages.
