Applied AI Architect (Full-time | Onsite | Kolkata)

About us We’re a small deeptech startup building a B2B agentic AI platform that enables intelligent agents to reason, act, and adapt across complex workflows. We are deeply problem-focused — not feature-driven, not trend-chasing. Every deployment starts with a real-world pain point, and everything we build is designed to solve something that matters. The platform is already being used in client and partner engagements (not public), and we work in an asynchronous, high-trust environment that prioritises clarity, ownership, and meaningful work over noise. The role As an Applied AI Architect, you’ll own problems from the first conversation to delivery. You’ll engage with clients and partners, dig into what they’re trying to solve, design intelligent workflows using our agentic platform, prototype in Python, and work with engineering to deliver. You’ll stay involved after delivery to ensure the solution works, not just runs. This is not a handoff role. We don’t separate pre-sales from delivery because that split breaks understanding. You’ll carry the context and the care all the way through. What you'll be doing Talk to clients and partners to understand the real problem, not just the request Design structured agent workflows using our internal AI platform Prototype and validate workflows using Python and APIs Work closely with engineering for final implementation and delivery Write clear briefs and technical documentation Stay involved through rollout and refinement Share insights and patterns with the product team to help shape future capabilities What we're looking for 2+ years of real engineering experience, ideally in Python Comfort with APIs, debugging, and prototyping Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows, or strong intent to learn fast Strong communication - written and verbal A sharp problem-solving mindset - you ask why, not just what Independent and reliable in asynchronous environments A belief that great technology starts with understanding the problem deeply You're a fit if You’re excited by solving real problems, not just building features You want to own a solution end-to-end - from design to deployment You’ve used LLM tools like ChatGPT to explore ideas or build things You think in systems and workflows, not just code You’re modest, structured, and driven by purpose You thrive in small teams where everyone is trusted to lead their work You're probably not a fit if You haven’t worked in a professional engineering team You avoid direct interaction with clients or users You want a rigid spec before you begin You’re not familiar with LLMs or uninterested in intelligent automation You prefer narrow roles in large, layered teams Why this role matters We're building for the real world, not a showcase.
