About the Role:

Rooted Plantworks LLP is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations at our Howrah office. The role requires complete familiarity with industry-standard financial practices, particularly in the retail and e-commerce sectors.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Handle daily bookkeeping and ledger maintenance using Tally and other traditional accounting tools

• Prepare and file GST returns, manage TDS/TCS processes, and ensure accurate statutory compliance

• Oversee income tax filings, audits, and reconciliation of accounts

• Manage bank, vendor, and inventory reconciliations

• Ensure adherence to all legal and financial regulations applicable to the retail and e-commerce domain

• Generate and maintain monthly MIS reports and support internal financial reviews

🎯 Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in retail or e-commerce accounting

• Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP, Excel, and traditional bookkeeping tools

• In-depth understanding of GST, TDS, TCS, income tax, and compliance frameworks

• Ability to manage financial operations independently and accurately

• Based in or able to commute to Howrah, West Bengal

🧠 Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience with accounting in a retail and/or e-commerce setup

• Mandatory proficiency in the following software:

• Tally ERP

• Microsoft Excel

• Unicommerce (not mandatory)

• Experience with order management or inventory systems integrated with online marketplaces is a plus
