Job Description

Job Title: Welding & Casting Equipment Maintenance Engineer Department: Maintenance / Manufacturing / Body Shop Job Purpose: Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of welding and casting equipment, including robotic and manual systems. The role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous production in manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on welding and casting equipment. Hands-on maintenance of spot welding guns – both manual and robotic. Maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-pneumatic welding fixtures. Diagnose and resolve issues related to robotic welding systems (Fanuc, ABB, or equivalent). Ensure high availability of robotic and manual welding systems for production. Maintain equipment logs, service reports, and spare parts records. Collaborate with production and process engineering teams to improve equipment uptime and efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of failures and implement corrective actions. Comply with safety and quality standards during maintenance activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and reliability. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong expertise in welding gun maintenance (manual and robotic). Experience with electro-pneumatic welding fixtures. Familiarity with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, ABB) for welding applications. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems related to welding and casting equipment. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for equipment faults. Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices. Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics. Basic knowledge of PLC interfaces related to welding equipment (preferred). Qualifications: Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience:3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in maintenance of welding, robotic welding guns, and casting equipment in automotive, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries. Reporting To: Maintenance Lead / Body Shop Maintenance Manager
