Transaction Monitoring Specialist

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and review transaction activities across banking channels to identify anomalies, suspicious behaviour.
• Perform risk-based transaction reviews, focusing on high-risk customers, unusual transaction patterns, or flagged entities.
• Ensure all financial and operational transactions comply with internal policies, RBI/SEBI/IRDA regulations, AML guidelines, and KYC norms.
• Assist in the creation and improvement of rule-based monitoring systems for fraud detection and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare regular compliance and exception reports, documenting any deviations and tracking resolution.
• Stay updated on trending risks, evolving regulations, and compliance best practices in banking and related sectors (e.g., telecom billing, travel payments).
  

Key Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 1 year in transaction monitoring.
• Solid knowledge of transaction processing, anti-money laundering (AML), fraud detection, and KYC processes.
• Familiarity with compliance tools, transaction monitoring software.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, investigative, and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working in high-risk, high-volume environments with tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking or Finance or related field.
• Certifications in AML, Compliance, Risk Management are an added advantage.
