The two metro lines are needed to meet the transportation needs of a growing population that will exceed 4.3 million and 5.1 million in Bhopal and Indore, respectively, by 2041. The two lines will reach a daily ridership of 25,905 (Bhopal) and 25,526 (Indore) passengers per hour by 2054.
