Position Title: Tailor Department: Housekeeping / Uniform Room / Laundry Location: Baywatch Resort, Goa Reports To: Housekeeping Manager / Uniform Room Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Tailor is responsible for providing high-quality tailoring services for staff uniforms, guest garment alterations, linen repairs, and special resort textile needs. This role ensures that all tailoring work aligns with the resort’s luxury standards and contributes to a well-maintained, professional appearance of both staff and guest services. Key Responsibilities: Perform alterations, repairs, and customizations of staff uniforms as per sizing and brand standards. Handle minor tailoring requests from guests, including hemming, zipper replacements, and garment adjustments. Maintain and repair linen, curtains, and other fabric furnishings across the property as needed. Ensure timely delivery of finished garments and tailored items. Maintain sewing machines and tailoring equipment in good working condition. Measure staff for new uniforms and ensure proper fit before issuance. Maintain inventory of tailoring supplies such as threads, needles, fabrics, buttons, and accessories. Collaborate with Housekeeping and Laundry teams to ensure efficient workflow. Ensure compliance with resort hygiene and safety standards at all times. Record all tailoring work completed and provide status reports as requested by management. Requirements: Proven experience as a professional tailor; hospitality or resort experience preferred. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and repair techniques. Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and overlock machines. Good eye for detail and precision in stitching and finishing. Basic record-keeping and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physically able to sit for long periods and handle materials. Preferred Qualifications: Certification or training in tailoring or garment construction. Prior experience in a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment. Multilingual skills (optional, for guest interactions). Work Environment: Work is primarily in the resort’s tailoring room or back-of-house uniform area. May be required to occasionally visit guest rooms or public areas for fittings or urgent repairs. Uniform provided; adherence to grooming standards required.
