Job Description : Site Civil Engineer – Arrester Barrier Systems Department : Defence Projects Division Location: Various Air Force Stations / Project Sites (PAN India) Reporting To : Project Manager – Defence Installations Company : John Galt International Key Purpose To execute and supervise civil infrastructure works related to the installation of aircraft arrester barrier systems Key Responsibilities : - Execute foundation and civil works for arrester barrier anchoring blocks, manholes, trenches, ducts, and RCC - Supervise installation of embedded items like sheaves, guideways, and anchorages as per approved GFC drawin - Ensure alignment and leveling of concrete pockets for mechanical fitments - Verify embedment dimensions and tolerances as per issued QTP and technical specs. B. Project Compliance & Documentation - Liaise with QA/QC and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance with DRDO/IAF norms - Maintain daily site logbooks, pour card approvals, RFI records, cube test reports, and backfilling approvals. - Support preparation of documentation for DGAQA inspections and qualification trials. C. Vendor & Labour Coordination - Monitor contractor performance, civil work timelines, and material usage. - Coordinate with material movement team to ensure timely delivery of steel, cement, shuttering, and foundation - Ensure site housekeeping and civil safety measures are implemented. D. Technical & Interface Management - Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure correct interface locations and baseplate fixations. - Provide red-marked drawings and As-Built updates to design office. Education - Diploma in Civil Engineering (Mandatory) - Site safety training or prior defense contractor exposure preferred Experience - 2–3 years in industrial or defense-related civil infrastructure projects - Hands-on experience in RCC, embedded steel works, and working on government/IAF sites preferred - Strong understanding of civil drawings, BBS, mix designs, and QA/QC processes - Familiarity with DRDO tender compliance, CPWD norms, and DGAQA protocols - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, or equivalent - Excellent team coordination and on-site problem-solving skills Additional Notes - Must be willing to travel or stay at remote Air Force Stations for project execution. - Defense site clearance may be required as per client protocols. - Preference will be given to candidates with experience in arrester barrier systems or aviation infrastructure.
