Job Summary

Security Officer (EHS)

Key Responsibilities:

Security Duties:

• Monitor and control access to the site; verify identification and authorize entry of workers, visitors, and vehicles.
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure site perimeter and assets are secure.
• Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other potential threats.
• Log daily security activities and report any incidents or suspicious behaviour.
• Coordinate with site management during emergency situations or deliveries.

EHS Responsibilities:

• Enforce the company’s EHS policies and ensure compliance with local safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and report hazards, unsafe practices, or environmental risks.
• Support and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and induction training.
• Ensure workers are using appropriate PPE and follow safe working procedures.
• Maintain proper signage, fire safety equipment, and emergency response systems.
• Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote awareness of safe practices and environmental responsibility among all site personnel.

Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; EHS or safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in a security or safety role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communicator with good reporting and documentation skills.
• Physically fit and able to work extended hours in an outdoor/site environment.
• Familiarity with emergency procedures, first aid, and basic fire safety.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting safety and security functions on active project sites.
• Certification in first aid, fire safety, or emergency response is an asset.
• Bilingual abilities (if applicable to site needs).
