Pre-Press Technician

Job Title: Prepress Technician Department: Designing Location: Tiruppur Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Prepress Technician is responsible for preparing digital files for print production by ensuring all artwork meets printing specifications. This includes pre-flighting files, making necessary corrections, setting up impositions, and producing proofs. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality printed output and efficient production workflow. Key Responsibilities: Review and preflight customer-supplied artwork for printing accuracy and compatibility. Correct file errors related to fonts, images, colors, and layout using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW . Set up files for various printing processes including offset, digital, and large format. Create impositions based on job specifications and press requirements. Generate digital and hard-copy proofs for internal review and customer approval. Operate prepress equipment such as CTP (computer-to-plate) systems, and proofing printers. Maintain file and job records for future reference and reprints. Collaborate with designers, print operators, and account managers to resolve file issues and ensure smooth production. Follow quality control procedures and company standards to minimize errors and waste. Stay updated with industry trends, software updates, and print technologies. Qualifications: Associate’s degree or technical training in graphic arts, printing technology, or related field (preferred). 2+ years of experience in a prepress or related production environment. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW. Familiarity with printing processes (offset, digital, etc.). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills (Optional): Experience with CorelDRAW software. Knowledge of color management and ICC profiling. Familiarity with packaging design and dieline preparation.
