Lead Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Giga Power Solutions is a leading engineering consultant located in Pondicherry, India. The Lead Electrical Design Engineer leads a team of engineers and designers to develop and review electrical systems and drawings, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. This role often bridges engineering and project management. Key Responsibilities Design Oversight : Prepare and review electrical system designs (e.g., single line diagrams, cable schedules, lighting layouts, earthing systems). Standards Compliance : Ensure designs meet international and local electrical codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE, IS). Manage and coordinate design teams. Liaise with project managers, clients, and other disciplines. Track project milestones and deliverables. Approve design documents and drawings. Conduct design verification and value engineering. Procurement Support : Provide technical input for the selection of electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs). Construction Support : Support construction teams by resolving field engineering issues and reviewing redlines/as-builts. QA/QC and Safety : Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with electrical safety practices. Required Skills and Experience Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering . Experience : 7–15+ years in electrical design, with at least 3–5 years in a lead or supervisory role.
