High Voltage-Lead Design Engineer

This is a full time role with our global engineering client. Position is open for Chennai/Mumbai.

Purpose -

Support the Commercial function in technical topics

Take ownership of the technical scope in tenders

Support Lead Engineer with calculations and documentation

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance of cable system with internal requirements, international standards and Client requirements

Maintain alignment between technical proposal and tender strategy

Take ownership of assigned technical scope

Follow established Engineering processes

Follow established Engineering design premises

Success criteria -

On-time and on-quality delivery of assigned scope

Adherence to the Engineering processes

Primary tasks

Analyze tender requirements and perform cable system design work

Analyze Lead Engineer’s assignment requirements

Perform thermal/electrical/mechanical calculations

Assess qualification needs and propose qualification plans

Interface with relevant depts in the organization

Present technical proposal to Clients

Compile relevant documentation

Interfaces -

Tender Engineering • Commercial and Tender • Sales • Planning • High voltage labs

Education -

MTech/M.E/BE/BTech in electrical or high voltage engineering

Experience -

7 years onwards into HV/EHV background or 2-3 years onwards experience with cable system design

2-3 years experience with thermal/electrical calculations

2-3 years experience in compiling tender documentation

Tools -

Microsoft office • Comsol • Matlab • Preferably AutoCad
