Maintain digital contractor databaseand streamline compliance during shutdowns and modifications. Execute confined space andwork-at-height inventory control and permit validation. Management and compliance of LOTO andLive Electrical Work Programs, Excavation, Chemical Safety Management, MSDS,Firefighting system (Pump House, Fire Hydrant system, Fire Extinguishers, SmokeDetectors, Gas Detectors etc.), Material, chemicals and fuel Storages, PPEsCompliance, Hazard Communications and other safety programs of site. 2. Fire &Life Safety Management: To lead a team of trained fire man andguide them in their routine duties. Maintain and calibrate fire alarmsystems, fire extinguishers, hydrants, foam monitors, sprinklers, Pump House,Gas Detectors, smoke detectors, and SCBA equipment. Manage AMC contracts for all fire& emergency equipment. Conduct fire pump testing, foamsprinkler inspections, fire hose hydrotests, and SCBA maintenance. Organize and lead site-wide fire andevacuation drills; prepare mock drill reports for DISH. Train ERT members in practicalfirefighting techniques and maintain Fire SOPs (e.g., SOP-17) in compliancewith revised Pfizer/WHO standards. Ensure availability of fireimpairments permits, fire safety signage, emergency lighting, and clear exitroutes. 3. EnvironmentalCompliance & Waste Management: Manage hazardous, biomedical, e-waste,and general waste: documentation (Forms 2, 3, 4, 5), manifests, vehiclelogistics, vendor coordination, and disposal. Operate and monitor Effluent TreatmentPlant (ETP), schedule operators, maintain logbooks, and ensure TDS/pHcompliance. Coordinate with ZIPL and CETP for various EHS related concerns. Perform water balance diagrampreparation and update GPCB records using XGN. Conduct regular environmental audits,collect monitoring samples, and submit reports to GPCB, DISH, etc. Execute the Ozone Depleting Compound(ODC) action plan in alignment with revised RPs. Environmental Sustainability ProgramManagements. 4. Health,Hygiene & Industrial Safety: Conduct Industrial Hygiene surveys(air sampling, noise, ergonomics, lead, asbestos) via certified third parties. Monitor containment integrity inproduction and warehouse isolators. Track PPE issuance and respirator usewith documentation of hearing and respiratory conservation programs. Managementof EHS Store and inventory. Perform calibration of VOC meters,oxygen and gas detectors (LEL), and ensure uptime across all critical areas. Install and verify oxygen sensorsduring shutdowns; coordinate SCBA calibration (e.g., via Draeger) with help ofexternal agency. 5. Training &Awareness Programs: Deliver monthly EHS/cEHS induction to new employees and contractors and other EHS related trainings as per sites requirement. Maintain training trackers, Risk Methodologies (TRMs), evaluation modules, answer sheets, and SOP ownership logs. Organize EHS campaigns: National Safety Week, World Environment Day, Road Safety Week, Fire Service Day, STF/Electrical Campaigns. Coordinate monthly EHS observations and safety moment investigations. Lead periodic ERT & Fire Safety refresher programs and behavioural safety engagement activities. 6. SOP Management, Documentation & Change Control: Simplify and revise SOPs per Sites DASH initiatives; maintain SOP master trackers. Prepare and update SOP annexures, training modules, and ensure mapping to relevant RPs. Manage EHS Management related standards like MOC, Objective and Targets, EHS Program Review, Emergency Management, BCM, Loss Prevention, Legal Compliance, Risk Assessments, Environment Impact Assessment, Water Stewardship etc. and coordinate NGCC (Non-GMP Change Control) activities and documentation. Lead audits and corrective action planning in alignment with CAPA as per sites expectations. Manage sites approved layouts, structural drawings, and its revisions, stability reports, and prepare documents for factory plans. 7. Regulatory Compliance & Legal Liaison: Track compliance status and submit required documentation for DISH, GPCB, PESO, and other regulatory agencies. Prepare licenses and renewals: PESO, Factory Plans, Hazardous Waste, Biomedical Waste, etc. Plan and execute third-party safety audits; collect and verify audit data before submission. Maintain ROR (Register of Regulation), legal records, Form 9/10/11 for inspection and hydrotests. Coordinate gap assessments for revised Pfizer EHS Standards and RPs in Enablon and vendor evaluation for legal audits. 8. General Duties: Manage EHS procurement (material indenting, PR/PO creation, invoice processing) in SAP and ZYGP. Handle EHS store inventory, EHS budgeting, and distribution of firefighting/PPE equipment. Coordinate manpower management: vendor registrations, agreement renewals, contractor invoice tracking. Process SEZ Gate passes and maintain QMS/DMS documentation and EHS trackers. Assist in campaign logistics (gifts, materials, printouts) and monthly bill provisioning. Manage the team of Fireman cum EHS Officer (contractual role) and ETP Operators. Role Summary: The Manager EHS will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance and performance at the manufacturing facility. This role demands proactive leadership, strong interpersonal and regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Safety Management & Shop Floor Oversight: Supervise daily activities to identify unsafe acts/conditions and promptly resolve them in consultation with shop floor in-charges. Prepare and maintain statutory registers and records, such as accident registers, Form 07 health register, and daily safety observation logs. Legal & Governmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to all HSE statutory compliances and liaise with government agencies as required. Submit online data to MPCB portals for water cess, environmental monitoring, hazardous waste returns, and annual environmental statements. Health & Medical Coordination: Arrange annual health check-ups for employees and ensure proper maintenance of related health records. Coordinate with hospitals and healthcare providers for treatment of injured workers and medical emergencies. Equipment, Tools & Contractor Management: Oversee inspection and servicing of firefighting equipment; coordinate with vendors for refilling and maintenance. Deal with Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies for annual tool and tackle inspections. Coordinate with the stores department for the replacement of damaged PPEs, tools, and tackles. Skills & Qualifications: Technical & Functional Skills: Sound knowledge of Indian HSE laws, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards. Ability to conduct HIRA, safety audits, accident investigations, and emergency response planning. Familiarity with MPCB online submission systems and hazardous waste management rules. Behavioral Competencies: Strong leadership qualities and confident personality with the ability to enforce compliance assertively. Excellent communication and coordination skills to engage with internal teams and external agencies. High attention to detail, self-discipline, and a proactive, ownership-driven approach. Educational Background: B.Sc./B.Tech in Environmental Science / Industrial Safety / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or related field. ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) is mandatory . NEBOSH / IOSH / Fire & Safety Certifications are a plus . Experience: Minimum 1015 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
