Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Director, Business Development to join our office in Mumbai, India.

The Role

As a senior member of the Business Development (BD) team, the Director, Business Development will manage various project development and bidding activities. This role involves managing key initiatives, coordinating actions, making working-level decisions on critical issues, conducting financial modeling and feasibility studies, incorporating advisor input, identifying key commercial issues, and delivering approval materials for review and reporting to senior management in Copenhagen/Utrecht.

Responsibilities will further consist of:

  • Guide the development of projects and the bidding process within the Business Development team, bringing a wealth of experience to the role.
  • Manage key projects, coordinate actions, and make critical decisions on financial modeling, feasibility, and commercial issues.
  • Deliver approval materials (slides, modeling outputs) for review and reporting to senior management.
  • Handle pre-NTP development matters, including managing initial and intermediate checkpoints.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders in construction and operations projects, focusing on the commercial aspects.
  • Combine development and commercial due diligence experience for renewable projects.
  • Understand the current regulatory regime in India for the C&I market. Evaluate the financial impact of projects.
  • Play a key role in ensuring a robust project pipeline. Originate projects and identify investment opportunities in line with company’s return/risk expectations.
  • Develop agreements with OEMs and developers to secure exclusivity for bids. Contribute to the development of business segments like Hybrids, Solar, and Wind through cross-functional techno-commercial analysis.
  • Provide regulatory support for business development, project implementation, bidding guidelines, PPAs, and stakeholder representation.

You

  • At least 15 - 20 years of experience in renewable Industry
  • highlighting significant contributions to project development, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance in the renewable energy field.
  • Hold an MBA, BE, or BTech degree, providing a solid foundation in business administration, engineering, or technology, which is essential for effectively managing and leading complex projects.

Regulatory Knowledge: Understand India’s regulatory regime for the C&I market. Financial Acumen: Proficient in financial modeling and feasibility studies. Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with partners and maintain key stakeholder relationships. Strategic Thinking: Originate projects, identify investment opportunities, and secure exclusivity for bids. Technical: Knowledge of renewable projects and commercial due diligence.
