Data Engineer (Aerospace/Aviation Background)
• Lead and manage end-to-end data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams including analytics, product, and engineering.
• Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Redshift, SQL, and AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda).
• Optimize Redshift clusters and SQL queries for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Serve as the domain expert for data modeling, architecture, and warehousing best practices.
• Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and data quality issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce coding and architectural standards.
• Own the data lifecycle: from ingestion and transformation to validation and delivery for reporting.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proven expertise in AWS Redshift, advanced SQL, and modern data pipeline tools.
• Hands-on experience with data lakes, data warehousing, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and drive them to completion.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
