Support Procurement during supplier negotiations to attain competitive pricing and maximise quote performance Evaluate competitive bids for equipment in order to provide cost effective solutions considering mechanics, electrical, instrumentation, control and piping systems. Identify all national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project and ensure their utilisation to meet project requirements. Review, in conjunction with various functional departments, enquiry documents and obtain clarifications where required to ensure that company design standards and customer specifications are maintained. Have appreciation of heat and material balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, instruments etc. ensuring compliance with project specs. Attend Technical Clarification Meetings with customers and sub-contractors when required to clarify any technical issues and meet customer needs. Experience with compressors Reciprocating / Centrifugal / Screw / Blowers / Fans or equivalent equipment Knowledge of process design techniques and interpretation of results into mechanical equipment details related to processes, compressors, auxiliary systems and peripherals Application of product specific software tools e.g. compressor selection tool, process simulation tool, and ERP, CAD Inventor, CAD Plan 3D, Vault Pro. Working knowledge of international standards such as ASME, ANSI, PED and API 618 / API 617 / API 619 & API 614 or similar.
