Category Head

Responsibilities

1. Develop modular furniture business and drivers of growth
2. Define and plan the sources of growth for modular furniture across categories/cities, price points, customer segments, brands, etc.
3. Track planned vs. actuals and identify intervention and actions to ensure achievement of targets along with the revenue team stakeholders
4. Represent operations to sales folks, sales to operations folks, and customers to management leaders
5. Drive profitability for the business by ensuring optimal product mix; own pricing, discounting and product marketing
6. Track top-line and bottom-line metrics; identify and implement initiatives to drive greater both the metrics
7. Work with the partners and internal planning teams to ensure optimal inventory onboarding based on the business projection
8. Senior stakeholder management and development of high-performing teams
9. Create presentations, notes around key business issues & opportunities and gather sponsorship across senior stakeholders for alignment and execution
10. Grow and develop a team of high-performing category managers

Basic Qualifications

1. MBA Degree from Premier B School
2. 8-12 years of total experience; 2+ years experience in P&L management
3. Ideally must have worked leading multiple categories with direct-line to sales folks
4. Experience in building businesses from scratch, and handling uncertainties
5. Ability to structure unstructured problems, and define and implement process changes
6. Must have people management experience of 2+ years; must showcase ability to lead, mentor, and manage high performing individuals
7. High competency in written and verbal communication skills (preparation of business documentation, presenting to senior stakeholders)
8. Number-oriented with high competency in business modeling (scenario modeling, data-based decision making)
9. Ability to work with others in a fast-paced, team environment and to interact effectively with all levels of management
10. Results oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Capacity to work individually with minimal or no supervision
